Safe Communities Innovation Fund

Top

To stem the prevalence of gangs and other criminal activity in Alberta, individual communities need to play active roles. The $60 million Safe Communities Innovation Fund (SCIF) is being used to strengthen and develop community-based projects and community-police partnership projects. The first round of approved SCIF projects is being announced, with communities across the province getting involved. From early intervention for children and families at-risk, to immigrant services and programs for Aboriginal communities, SCIF funding provides support for many crime and safety related-issues. The next round of applications will be accepted until fall 2009.
