Alberta Justice and Attorney General provides resources and opportunities for employees to manage their career growth and development. Career resources include:

Annual $500 Learning and Wellness Account

Employees in the Alberta Public Service (APS) have access to a Learning and Wellness accountadobe acrobat document. This account is in addition to regular training and development resources, and is provided to support employees in the pursuit of continuous learning and personal health and wellness.

The focus is on enhancing employability within the APS and developing an individual commitment to life-long learning and personal health and wellness. All eligible employees are entitled to funds up to a maximum of $500 (including GST) in support of learning, development and personal well-being.

Secondment Opportunities

Secondments are opportunities for employees to temporarily work in a different position to gain new knowledge or share their own expertise. The secondee returns to their original position when the secondment term is completed. Secondments facilitate employee development by providing an opportunity for cross training and the sharing of knowledge.
